Photo of Dennis

A Vietnam veteran, Dennis Desprois began his career in 1972 as a sports photographer with the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. In 1973 he established one of the first video coaching systems in baseball. As the 49ers team photographer and NFL photographer, he has photographed several Super Bowls, winning the NFL Hall of Fame Photography contest in 1976 with a picture from Super Bowl XI. In 1984 Desprois was promoted to the position of Director of Graphics and Photography for the Giants where he remained until 1989. After 19 years with the club, he left the Giants and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona to be with his wife and year old daughter.

In Scottsdale, Desprois was the Seattle Mariners Spring Training photographer and the Minor League Spring Training photographer for the Chicago Cubs. From 1992 to 1996, he was the photo editor for Major League Baseball official World Series books and the NFL's official Super Bowl books. Desprois' photographs have appeared in major sports magazines and nearly a hundred books.

Since 1990, Desprois has been designing, racing and manufacturing R/C sailboats and is the current national champion of the American Model Yachting Association's Seawind Class. He is also a regular contributor to R/C Sailing magazines.

Desprois approached being diagnosed with cancer in 2000 as a wake up call to get on with all of the things he wanted to accomplish. After a successful career as a sports photographer, he made the commitment to be a full time artist and a “Paperback Writer”. Desprois now paints full time creating art with mass appeal and he has recently finished his first novel.
